We... read more had Mark (skipper) and Eirlys (Snowdrop) in a 280 horsepower rib. Our trip left and returned on time. We had booked the entire boat privately because, having stayed in St Brides bay for over 20 yrs, we wanted to see things from the sea (and no one else wanted to book this trip I guess). Mark was a great skipper and very knowledgeable about the coats having been here since a boy. Eirlys was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, having been recently involved in an archaeological dig nearby; also really nice to chat with. Mark timed it all very well; we managed about half of the bay in 2 hours then blasted back across the flat-calm bay at high speed. A really lovely informative and exciting trip. We might do the other half of the bay next year.
Note: the rib is black rubber which can leave marks on light-coloured trousers when climbing in and out.

We were... read more sat at the back and still managed to see everything. The skippers were really knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the area. A few of the reviews mentioned that you would need to be fit to get down to the quay, however we didn't find it that bad at all (and I'm not the fittest!). There are maybe 20 or so steps, and they help you on and off the boat. There were people significantly older than us (40s) going down, so I wouldn't be too put off if you are moderately fit. We didn't really get wet at all (it was a beautiful day), the only slight bit of water we got was going inside a cave which had a (very) little waterfall coming from the ceiling. We were a party of... read more ages 3 to 62 and all were very excited following the trip. The kids talked about it endlessly. We entered caves seeing seals and bird life. The crew looked after us continuosly,
we felt well cared for. It wasn't cheap but we felt worth every penny. It was the highlight for our Pembrokeshire holiday.

We saw seals, both swimming in the water and saw females waiting to give birth on the beaches around the Island. We were lucky enough to see some newly born seal pups too. Our guide knew we may see porpoises because the gannets were circling above, a sign the porpoises were chasing fish to the surface of the water. He was so right!! We were lucky to see the porpoises. An amazing trip around Ramsey, Mark was very knowledgeable as was Eirlys. We saw pods of porpoise and a variety of sea birds, all were highlighted and plenty of time to see them in their natural habitat. Unfortunately I'm not the most graceful of people and I'm sure getting on and off the rib would create anxiety for some - me included but it wasn't an issue and to be told the 'safest way to get on and off is the way feel comfortable' was a huge relief. Big thanks to all, my 10 year old stated that it was the best day ever.
