Aquaphobia Terms & Conditions

It’s really important to us that you enjoy your time with us and what you’ll find below is information on how to make the most of your trip, safety, cancellations and other policies. Please read our Terms & Conditions before you book with us so you have all the needed information and can see if our boat trips are for you.

What to Think About:

The sea is unpredictable, and we may experience swells during the trip.

If you suffer from motion sickness or sea sickness, please consider whether this is the trip for you. You may wish to consult your doctor or a pharmacist to get suitable medication to ensure a more pleasant trip.

It’ll be colder and wet out there, even on hot, sunny days!

Wear comfortable, warm and waterproof clothing - layers are best then you can adjust to suit the weather conditions - and shoes and trousers that you don’t mind getting wet. You might also want to bring along a spare set of clothing to change into after your trip.

You can bring cameras, binoculars and other valuables at your own risk, but please bring them in a protective, waterproof bag and use the attached straps to prevent loss overboard.

Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Sun and windburn are very real possibilities if you don’t protect your skin. We want you to have wonderful memories of your trip, not painful ones, so please wear your sunscreen.

Safety First!

We will provide life jackets for all passengers and give safety briefings and instructions which you must pay attention to. Travelling at sea can be dangerous and your experienced skipper knows what’s best to ensure a safe and fun voyage.

COVID

We are happy to say we are now running trips again but have made some adjustments for your safety and ours. Please wear your face mask at all times and use the hand sanitiser provided. We will be social distancing on board as much as possible and we will have fewer space available on our trips to allow for this, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Terms & Conditions

Safety

What your skipper says, goes! We do everything we can to ensure your safety. Your skipper is DTI licensed with years of experience and you do need to follow his instructions and listen to the safety briefings.

We don’t allow passengers to sit on the outside tubes and you will be seated safely inside the boat.

You must wear your provided lifejacket.

We keep our boats fully equipped, fully maintained and in prime condition for everyone’s safety, and we are insured. However, our insurance doesn’t cover your personal items and valuables. Bring them only at your own risk.

Alcohol and drugs really don’t mix with sea travel for safety reasons, and we reserve the right to refuse your boat trip if we think you are intoxicated. We will not give you a refund under these circumstances.

Going out to sea is not without risk due to everchanging conditions. Our skipper is an expert, but we cannot accept any responsibility for acts of God and other events that we can’t control.

Cancellations:

If we cancel:

We will do everything we can not to cancel but safety is our prime consideration, and we will not run our boat trips in unsuitable weather conditions. The definition of ‘unsuitable weather conditions’ is down to the skipper and his decision is final.

We may, very occasionally, need to cancel, reschedule or delay trips for logistical reasons.

If we do have to cancel, we will always contact you to let you know and we will offer a full refund or offer to rearrange the trip, if possible. Please ensure you have given us a contact number where we can reach you and have your phone with you on the day of the trip.

If you cancel:

To obtain a full refund, you must cancel at least 48 hours before your departure. If you cancel after that point, we will not be able to give you a refund.

Refunds:

We will only issue refunds if you cancel 48 hours or more before your trip, or if we need to cancel due to weather conditions or other reasons.

If you cancel after 48 hours, no refund will be given.

If you are late and miss your boat trip or fail to turn up, we cannot give a refund.

If we refuse entry to you for any reason, including alcohol consumption or inadequate clothing, you will not be given a refund.

Medical Conditions:

If you have a medical condition, please check with your doctor before you book your trip.

Please let us know about any medical conditions. We want to keep you safe onboard and may refuse your booking if we think the boat trip might exacerbate your condition; for example, with unpredictable conditions at sea, the boat may move unexpectedly which could cause issues if you have back or neck problems.

If you travel with a medical condition, you do so at your own risk.

General Terms:

We would love to be able to guarantee that you’ll see all the wildlife you want on our boat trips, but unfortunately whales, dolphins and sea birds don’t come when called. We travel to the right areas and habitats for you to see a variety of local wildlife, but every trip is different.

Please give us a correct email and phone number so we can keep you up to date with your booking and let you know if there is a delay or cancellation for any reason, and please carry your phone on the day of the trip. We will always keep your personal data safe, and you can read more in our privacy policy.

We may take photographs during your trip to use for our website and other publicity.

If you have any problems or complaints, you can email us at [email protected].

We reserve the right to update our website, social media and our terms and conditions at any time, so please do check back before booking.
